PSPF Release 2025 and Tranche 2 of the Commonwealth Uplift Policy is live

Today, the Department of Home Affairs issued PSPF Release 2025, as part of Tranche 2 of the Commonwealth Uplift Reforms.

PSPF Release 2025 introduces policy changes regarding personnel and information security, and innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing and connected peripheral technologies. It also gives authority to two new Australian Government Security Standards for Gateway Security and Systems of Government Significance.

It was developed in consultation with the Policy Development Subcommittee and Technical Authority Entities, overseen by the Government Security Committee and the Protective Security Board.

PSPF Release 2025 demonstrates the continuing commitment to ensuring the protective security policy settings are appropriate for the contemporary threat environment to protect, deter and respond to the security threats and challenges facing the Australian Government.
