PSPF Release 2026 now available

The Department of Home Affairs has published PSPF Release 2026.

PSPF Release 2026 introduces policy improvements on emerging technologies. This includes:

  • transition planning post-quantum cryptography
  • training on artificial intelligence (AI) use
  • bring-your-own-device obligations.

The release also:

  • strengthens restrictions on personnel posting security clearance information on online platforms
  • enables future reforms to the Hosting Certification Framework
  • updates information, personnel and physical security controls
  • includes training on countering foreign interference.

PSPF Release 2026 has been developed in consultation with the Policy Development Subcommittee and Technical Authority Entities. The Government Security Committee endorsed the release, with oversight from the Protective Security Board.
