Protective security training resources

The following resources are provided to assist protective security professionals:

Protective security practitioner training providers

There are a range of registered training organisations (RTOs) and universities that offer protective security practitioner training. Alternatively, you can apply for formal qualifications through Universities that offer security training.

Accredited training

Accredited training providers are available through Training.gov.au, the official national register on Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia. Training.gov.au provides information on training packages, qualifications, accredited courses, units of competency and registered training organisations. Accredited courses include protective security, security risk management and other related areas. Information can be searched on the website by course title or qualification number with details provided on the locations accredited training is delivered.

Personnel security pamphlets

The Attorney-General’s Department has developed the following print ready personnel security pamphlets to assist agencies reinforce to their personnel the need for initial and ongoing suitability screening and the sharing of information about potential concerns with their personnel.

These pamphlets are also available as Word documents for agencies who would like to customise the message for their operating environment by contacting PSPF@ag.gov.au.

Training videos

There are currently no Australian training videos available. The UK Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure YouTube page contains some useful clips.
